Memorial plaque for the commemoration of police officers of the State of Hessen who lost their lives in the line of duty.\u00a0Commissioned by the Hessen State Ministry of the Interior and Sports, Wiesbaden.<\/em><\/p>\n

Guidelines<\/h3>\n

A prominent space in the Ministry building\u2019s central entrance area was set adise specially for the honorable mention of all those police officers who have died serving the State of Hessen.
\nThe text and names were provided and specified by the Hessen State Ministry of the Interior and Sports.<\/p>\n

Definition of task<\/h3>\n

The task was to find a meaningful design in terms of shape and materials to appropriately visualize the remembrance of those who have perished in the line of duty.<\/p>\n

Design<\/h3>\n

Anodized and polished aluminum panel, raised and incused engraving.
\nThe police officers\u2019 names are engraved into bars emanating outward from the stripes of the State of Hessen coat of arms with its lion. Inseparably linked to the shape of the Hessen emblem, the bars bearing the names reach out into the surrounding wall. A refined aluminum panel, milled to create a relief and indent effect, enduringly keeps alive the memory of the police officers who have lost their lives in the course of duty for the State of Hessen.<\/p>\n
